Understanding Dubai Green Visa

The UAE's Green Visa offers holders the chance to sponsor themselves for five years, providing unprecedented independence and freedom. It eliminates the need for relying on a UAE national or employer for sponsorship. With this visa, residents can immerse themselves in UAE's culture while contributing to its growth. The Green Visa supports sustainability, attracting skilled professionals and investors dedicated to environmental stewardship. The UAE welcomes dreamers and visionaries to explore endless possibilities and make it their cherished home.

3 Categories of Green Visa.

1.    Freelancers

-    Freelancers and self-employed individuals are required to submit a permit to the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation. It is essential to provide a self-proof of employment, including business tax returns, licenses, and receipts.

-    To be eligible, applicants must meet the minimum educational requirement of possessing a Bachelor's degree or an equivalent specialized diploma.

-    To qualify, applicants must present evidence of an annual income from self-employment for the preceding two years, amounting to a minimum of AED 360,000. This requirement ensures that applicants can maintain their financial well-being and remain financially stable while residing in the country.

2.    Skilled Employees

To be considered, candidates must be currently employed in the UAE with a valid contract, possess a Bachelor's degree, and have a minimum salary of 15,000 AED.

The job levels for this visa are divided into three distinct categories:

A. Level 1 – Reserved for legislators, managers, and business executives.
B. Level 2 – Designed for professionals in scientific, technical, and human fields.
C. Level 3 – Intended for technicians specializing in scientific, technical, or humanitarian areas.

These clearly defined categories help streamline the application process and ensure that each candidate's qualifications and expertise align with their respective job levels.

3.    Investor or Partners

To be eligible for the UAE Green Visa, candidates must provide evidence of their investment, and the company must select one of the following legal forms:
A.    Public Shareholding Company.
B.    Private Joint Stock Company.
C.    Limited Liability Company.
D.    Simple Recommendation Company.
E.    Solidarity Company.

Upon incorporation or contribution, the investor's or partner's share must not be less than one million paid Dirhams or its equivalent in other currencies. To maintain compliance with the terms, the green residency must be consistently upheld and renewed.
The UAE Green Visa presents an opportunity for investors and entrepreneurs committed to sustainable business practices and environmentally friendly initiatives. By fulfilling the investment and legal form requirements, applicants can enjoy the benefits of a green residency and contribute to the UAE's vision of fostering a greener and more sustainable economy.

To apply, you need to meet the following requirements:

A.    Provide a personal photo.
B.    Submit a copy of your passport with a validity of at least 6 months.
C.    Obtain a self-employed permit from the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation.

If you intend to apply for a Green Residence permit under the self-employment and skilled worker category, please refrain from canceling your existing residence, if any, until you have successfully obtained the green residence permit for self-employment issued by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation.

Furthermore, it's important to note that the Green Visa offers longer and more flexible grace periods, extending up to six months after the permit has been canceled or expired. This allows applicants additional time and flexibility to manage their visa status and plan their next steps accordingly.
