Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

1. How do I apply for a UAE Golden Visa step by step?

Start by registering on the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA) website under the Golden Services section. If you haven't yet been nominated, submit a Nomination Request for Golden Residence with your personal details and eligible category. Once nominated and approved (within 30 days), you'll receive an email to upload your supporting documents. The ICA then verifies your documents and issues the Golden Visa. You'll also need your Unified Identification Number (UID) at the time of application.

2. How long does UAE Golden Visa nomination approval take?

After submitting your nomination request on the ICA portal, the authorized government authority reviews your application within 30 days. You'll be notified of the outcome by email. If approved, a document upload link is shared with you to proceed to the next stage of verification and visa issuance.

3. Can I work in the UAE with a Golden Visa?

Yes, but a separate work permit is required to work for an employer. The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation issues work permits to Golden Visa holders — this applies both to those who were unemployed when they received the visa and those switching to a new employer. The Golden Visa itself grants you the right to reside in the UAE; the work permit authorizes employment.

4. Can entrepreneurs apply for a UAE Golden Visa without AED 10 million in investment?

Yes. Entrepreneurs are not subject to the same investment thresholds as investors. To qualify, they need either an existing project with a minimum capital of AED 500,000 or an approval letter from an accredited business incubator in the UAE. Approved entrepreneurs receive an initial 6-month multi-entry visa (renewable once) while their full application is being processed, and the visa covers their spouse, children, partner, and up to three executives.
